Meet the Librarian
Welcome to the Blue Mountain High School Library! My name is Mr. Buchman and I am currently serving in my 25th year at the high school library and 28th year at Blue Mountain. I also serve as a lead teacher, assistant cross country coach, and ski club adviser for the Blue Mountain School District. I am proud to provide a top level library media program to all students that will continue to evolve each and every year with the advent of new technology. I am very confident that our program will provide all students with the necessary resources, both print and online, for all research assignments. I will also continue to modify and update our fiction section to provide the best possible novels for all reading interests. Check out our library digital marketing on a daily basis for any new book arrivals, popular reads or student book reviews! I welcome all new students to the Blue Mountain High School and look forward to meeting everyone throughout the year!
About the Library
Welcome to the Blue Mountain High School Library. We are in our seventh year of 1:1 computer usage that allows our students wireless access from anywhere in the library along with printing capabilities to three laser printers. LibraryTrac continues to serve as our official online attendance system and is used in conjunction with any student ID card with a barcode. Our copy machine allows for scanning documents to student e-mail addresses. Also, a teleconferencing center is available for Zoom, Skype, FaceTime or any other electronic conferencing opportunities. The newest version of Destiny is a Cloud based program (23.1) and is also available as a mobile app. All e-books through the Gale virtual reference library, Destiny Discover and Power Library are also available remotely. In addition, Congressional Digest Online and American Literature Online now supplement our print journal subscriptions along with our Salem Press subscriptions, Masterplots as well as our Psychology and Mental Health series. Finally, Congressional Quarterly Researcher is now available in a database format and the very popular Gale Literature Resource Center has now been added as a database for the Spring semester in order to supplement the literature research paper. With over two dozen remotely accessible databases along with Destiny, our library can now be accessed from any point on the planet. Please see Mr. Buchman in the library for details!
