Recognition of Shapes
Learners engaged in a creative shapes recognition activity called “Garden of Shapes.” Using cutouts of basic shapes like circles, squares, rectangles, and triangles, they arranged and pasted them to create a beautiful garden scene. Through this engaging task, learners identified different shapes, observed their features, and understood how shapes can be used to form meaningful pictures. The activity strengthened their visual discrimination, fine motor skills, and creativity while reinforcing early math concepts. Learners enjoyed exploring shapes in a hands-on way, making the learning experience interactive, joyful, and memorable.
Recognition of Vegetables
Our little learners enjoyed a hands-on vegetable recognition activity focused on broccoli. Through a creative stamping exercise, children explored the texture, shape, and color of this healthy green vegetable. Using sponge dabbing and paint, they recreated broccoli florets on their worksheets, which helped strengthen their fine motor skills and hand–eye coordination. This activity not only supported their understanding of vegetables but also made learning meaningful and enjoyable. Children showed great curiosity while identifying broccoli and discussing its benefits. Such engaging experiences encourage them to build healthy eating habits and connect classroom learning with the real world.

International Mindedness
At our IB school, international mindedness is not just a concept we teach, it is something our learners experience, practise, and embody through meaningful real-world connections. Over the past few months, our learners engaged in powerful learning opportunities that helped them explore the world beyond their classrooms. As part of Global Engagement, our Grade 1 learners confidently interviewed an Australian guest over a Zoom meeting. This simple yet impactful interaction opened a window into another lifestyle, environment, and set of traditions, showing how even our youngest learners can make global connections and ask thoughtful questions.
Moving further into Intercultural Understanding, our Grade 4 learner conducted an insightful interview with an individual from Afghanistan. Through this conversation, the learner deepened their understanding of Afghan culture, its celebrations, values, food, clothing, and everyday life while demonstrating empathy, curiosity, and respect for cultural diversity. To celebrate Multilingualism, our school also organised an online interactive webinar with Tip Schools. During this exchange, students shared their own cultural practices, languages, and perspectives while appreciating those of others. This collaboration reminded our learners that language is a powerful bridge between people and that every culture holds unique stories worth listening to. Together, these experiences highlight the spirit of the IB philosophy encouraging our students to become open-minded, knowledgeable, and caring young individuals who think globally and act with understanding. By connecting with people from different countries, cultures, and languages, our learners are growing into responsible global citizens ready to contribute to a more inclusive and peaceful world.
