To express their learning, learners created colorful posters on the theme “Be Kind to Animals.” The activity encouraged empathy, care, and respect for all living beings. By sharing real-life examples of kindness towards animals, learners reflected on how small actions—such as feeding, protecting, and loving animals—can make a big difference. This meaningful experience helped nurture compassion and responsible attitudes in our young learners.
Building Counting Skills
Learners participated in engaging activities using number cut-outs to explore the concept of “What Comes After.” Through hands-on learning, children sequenced numbers, identified the next number, and developed an understanding of number order. These interactive tasks encouraged logical thinking, number recognition, and concentration. Learners confidently placed the correct numbers while discussing their choices with peers and teachers. The use of manipulatives made learning fun, meaningful, and age-appropriate. This activity helped build a strong foundation for counting skills and supported learners in developing confidence and independence in their mathematical learning journey.
Learning in Action at BMCS
At BMCS, learning goes beyond the classroom. Following the IB PYP approach, learners apply their understanding in real-life contexts.
During the unit How We Express Ourselves, learners explored the concept of media, its types, and how advertisements persuade people. As an action, learners designed advertising billboards to promote chocolates. These billboards were displayed during the Christmas celebration, supporting the sale of chocolates.
The proceeds from the sale will be donated to underprivileged children, reinforcing values of creativity, communication, and social responsibility—true to the spirit of the IB PYP.
Movement with Purpose
At BMCS,this month our learners expressed themselves beautifully through dance across various school events. Our EYP learners joyfully prepared a dance for their Graduation Day, celebrating confidence, growth, and joyful learning.
