Lancaster Cemetery  Scavenger Hunt Adventure

The Red Rose Blue Star Mothers, PA202 have been working to identify and honor each US Veteran buried in the Lancaster Cemetery. We have identified over 1,200 U.S. Veterans so far (18 from the Revolutionary War). The next phase of this project is to begin to recover and restore the stones of our U.S. Veterans.

We would like to thank our sponsors who helped our event become a success!  We were able to raise over $1,500 towards the cost of repairing veteran headstones.

Memorial Stone Recognition

During the course of our research of missing Veterans, it became evident that there will be Veterans that we will never be able to find a stone for.

Be it the age of the stone, mass burials or missing stones...some will simply not be found.  As part of our mission we aim to teach others about the sacrifices these men and women gave.  No one will be forgotten.

With hard work, persistence and dedication, Maurene Leary of our Chapter, secured the donation of an engraved memorial stone by Weaver Memorials.

On Sunday, June 15, 2021, We recognized individuals and groups who have come alongside us in our quest to find every veteran buried within Lancaster Cemetery:

Josh and Madalyn Weaver of Weaver Memorials

Lancaster Cemetery Board

Andre Dominguez

Carter Family

Daughters of the American Revolution, Donegal-Witness Tree Chapter

Children of the American Revolution, George Ross Society

We would like to offer our sincere gratitude to these individuals and many others for making this project possible.
