Wayne State Rural Law Opportunities Program(RLOP) - The RLOP program recruits and educates students from rural Nebraska to become lawyers who will return to rural communities to practice law. The program partners with UNL. Deadline is 12/1/25.

Do the FAFSA Nebraska Scholarship - This scholarship will provide 60 $1,000 non-renewable scholarships for Nebraska high school seniors to attend a Nebraska college or university. Applicants must complete their 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and a short scholarship application. If selected, the funds may be used for tuition, fees, books/supplies, living expenses, or transportation costs. First drawing: Dec 5th, second drawing, April 15th.
The Engler Scholarship Program - The Engler scholarship program is designed to empower enterprise builders. Approximately 200 students at UNL are pursuing development of their entrepreneurial skills and capacity in the program. In 2024-25, 90 students earned Engler scholarships totaling about $175,000. The scholarship awards range from $1,000 to $4,000 for an academic year with students eligible to reapply each year of their undergraduate career. Application opening on October 1st, 2025 and due December 15th 2025. Here is a PDF of the form.
Avacare Medical - The AvaCare Medical Scholarship recognizes those who are working to better the lives of our customers, students who are pursuing a degree in the medical field, with a prize of $1000 toward college tuition. This scholarship is awarded annually to one submission that tells about an inspiring act of kindness. Due 12/15/25.
Norma Ross Walter Scholarship – Applicants must be female high school seniors who plan to continue their education as English majors in accredited colleges or universities. Selection is based on intellectual promise, creativity, and character of the applicant. Deadline: 1/31/26
Antonette Willa Skupa Turner Scholarship - Applicants must be high school seniors who are prospective first year college students and plan to continue their education as English or History majors in accredited colleges or universities. Ántonia Scholarship – Applicants must be high school seniors who are prospective first year college students and plan to continue their education as English or History majors in accredited colleges or universities. Leslie & Helen R. Wilson Memorial Scholarship - must be a resident of Webster County and plan to enroll in a two- or four-year school to study Ag or Secondary Education. Due 4/28/26.
UNL Acacia Fraternity Scholarship - Scholarships will be awarded to worthy applicants who display leadership potential and demonstrate academic success. No affiliation with Acacia is required to receive this scholarship. Applications should be submitted ASAP for highest consideration, due January 31st
Great Plains Communication - Available to graduating seniors who are customers of Great Plains Communications. Must have strong desire to return to their hometown or other Great Plains Communications community to pursue their career. Deadline February 1st
BBC Scholarship - Honors students who demonstrate outstanding leadership and integrity. Due 2/28/26.
National FFA Scholarship - The 2023-24 scholarship application opens Nov. 1, 2025, deadline 1/15/26.
Bill Lewis Scholarship - The Nebraska High School Officials Association will be awarding two $5,000 Bill Lewis Scholarships in the Spring of 2026. Intended to provide financial assistance for the education of students who participated annually in two or more NSAA sanctioned activities. The recipients and their parents will be presented with the scholarship award at the NSAA State Boys Basketball tournament. CNSGA Scholarship - Central Nebraska Senior Golf Association Scholarship, awarded annually to high school seniors in our region who have excelled in the game of golf. The link directs you to a folder which includes the information and materials necessary for this application. Deadline 3/1/26.
Nebraska 4-H Foundation - Selection based on 4-H background, leadership abilities, interest and desire for further education, scholastic achievements. Multiple scholarships available at various amounts, some are renewable. Due 1/5/26.
Nebraska 4-H & Local Extension Scholarships- Multiple scholarships will be available with various criteria, however are not updated yet for the 2026 graduates. Various due dates will apply, please continue to watch website for further details.
Susan Buffett - Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis to first-time college freshman, who graduated from a Nebraska High School, with plans to attend a Nebraska public college, and demonstrates financial need. Opens 11/1/25, deadline 2/1/26 before 5pm CT.
Foundation for Rural Services - The foundation annually awards scholarships to an exceptional group of rural students for their first year of college or vocational school. Opens 11/18/24. Due 2/14/26.

The Horatio Alger Association Scholarship - High School Seniors are eligible to apply for any of the targeted Horatio Scholarships if they meet specific eligibility criteria for the various scholarships available on the website. Seniors must also show critical financial need, integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, and have United States Citizenship. Martha & Don Romeo Scholarship The Nebraska Association of Fair Managers will award a $500 scholarship to one qualifying 4-H male and a $500 scholarship to one qualifying 4-H female who are graduating seniors in the State of Nebraska and who plan to continue with post high school education. Due 11/30/25.

Nebraska Press Association Foundation - Scholarships will be given to students with a specific interest in community-based print journalism OR agricultural communications. Special consideration will be given to essay question response and student's involvement in their local community newspaper, or student newspaper. Must be postmarked by 1/19/25.
Little Blue River Chapter (Hastings) Pheasants Forever Scholarship - For seniors majoring in wildlife biology or a related field. Students must be a resident of Adams County. This is a one-time $1,000 scholarship. Please see Mrs. Kliewer for an application. Due January 29, 2025
Nebraska Corn Growers Association - The NeCGA Future Leaders in Ag Scholarship Program (FLAGship Program) is open to Nebraska high school seniors or college freshmen who are continuing their education in state. The FLAGship Program is a scholarship program for future ag leaders in Nebraska. To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be a member of NeCGA or the son/daughter of an NeCGA member. Due 1/31/25.
South Central Cattlemen Scholarship - The South Central Cattlemen will award up to $3,500 worth of scholarships to 2025 graduating seniors. Applicants must be pursuing a degree at a 2-4 year accredited institution, preferably in an ag-related field, however all majors will be accepted and considered. Applications are due 2/1/25. Please see your email and/or Mrs. Kliewer for an application.
Livestock Marketing Association - The purpose of this program is to provide a one-time scholarship to qualified applicants who are interested in or display knowledge or understanding of the importance of the agriculture industry and its supporting entities, as well as plan to use their career to advocate for the advancement of the livestock marketing industry. Will open 1/31/25.

Maggie Thompson Memorial Scholarship - Eligibility Criteria includes a high school student living with a disability who demonstrates their desire to increase independence through education or employment. Applications must be received by 2/21/2025.
Smith Diversity Scholarship - Lutheran Family Services established the Coyner and Donna Smith Diversity Scholarship Fund to provide a college education for graduating high school seniors from low-income, minority families who are residents of Nebraska. Application is open October 2, 2023 - 2/28/25.
Nebraska Public Leadership Foundation - $1,000 Scholarship awarded to a Nebraska senior with plans to attend a Nebraska college or university, with an interest in education, whose school district is a member of the Nebraska Association of School Boards, and has a 3.0 minimum GPA. Adams/Webster County Farm Bureau Scholarship - All students are encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those pursuing a career in agriculture. Deadline 3/1/25.
Hastings Chamber of Commerce - Agri-business Scholarship - available to all students enrolled in any Adams, Clay, Nuckolls, Webster school, or D-T, or Giltner HS. Must have a "C" average. Must be planning a major in any ag field. Mrs. Kliewer has hard copies of the application. Due 3/1/25.
Nebraska Sorghum Producers Association - $500 award to a graduating high school senior. To qualify, the student must plan to pursue a course of study, which will prepare him or her for a career in agriculture or an ag-related field. Due 3/1/25.
MNB HomeGrown Leaders Scholarship - Available for area High School Seniors pursuing post-secondary education. The scholarships will be awarded to the students who best exemplify the commitment, passion and perseverance of a community leader. Deadline: 3/1/25

Nebraska BLD Connection Scholarship - $1,000 awarded to a Nebraska HS Senior or current college freshman enrolled/enrolling in a college/technical school program related to the lumber and building materials or construction industry in the 2025-2026 school year. Due 3/1/25.
Nebraska School Counselor Scholarship - Blue Hill High School Seniors planning to attend college during the 2025-2026 School Year are eligible to apply. Must be postmarked by March 2, 2025.
The Little Blue Natural Resources District - The Little Blue Natural Resources District will offer three $500 scholarships to qualified students that reside within the Little Blue Natural Resources District. The student must be attending a two-year or four-year college, majoring in a conservation or environmental field, academically in good standing, and live in the district. Please see Mrs. Kliewer for an application. Due March 3, 2025
Sydney Loofe Memorial Scholarship - Applicants must be a senior graduating in 2025, have a 3.0 GPA or higher, and demonstrate plans to attend an institution of higher learning which will make an impact on the community in the interest of safety, and the desire to protect the vulnerable in the areas of countering human trafficking, online safety, or cyber security. $4,000 Award. National Public Leadership Students with plans to attend college or university in Nebraska, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and those full-time, public school students whose school district is a member of the Nebraska Association of School Boards qualify to apply for the scholarship. Due 3/14/25.
The Lincoln Community Foundation - The Lincoln Community Foundation administers more than 90 different scholarship funds - many of which are for students who live outside of Lincoln/Lancaster County. All Nebraska students are encouraged to visit the site. Almost $600,000 will be offered to more than 300 students! You will use this link, click "Sign Up" to create a User ID by supplying your email address as your username, and a password. Once logged in, applicants will have access to the online general application form. Based on the information provided in the general application, you are automatically matched to scholarships for which you are fully eligible. Some scholarships will require additional information. You will see additional scholarships on the "Recommended Opportunities" tab. Recommended does not man you are eligible. Most scholarships are due 3/15/25.

Thomas C. Woods, Jr. Scholarship - Amount: $1,250 (2 Awards, renewable up to 4 years if criteria are met) Eligibility: Graduating seniors from high schools in specific Nebraska counties (see list on application). Criteria: Academic success, financial need, graduates from specific counties, with preference to dependents of former Aliant/Alltel employees. Due 3/15/25
CPI Scholarship - CPI is offering scholarship opportunities for high school seniors for both CPI customers and employees. Multiple scholarships available on this website. Applications are due 3/21/25.
Nebraska Society of Mayflower Descendants - Scholarship applications will be accepted beginning January 1, 2024 and will close March 31, 2024. Applicants must be a high school senior planning on attending an accredited 4-year college or university, be a resident of Nebraska and a US Citizen, and must complete the assigned essay and citations of research. Mayflower Ancestry is NOT a requirement.
Nebraska Actuaries Club - Applicants must be entering a college or university as a freshman in the fall of 2024. Each scholarship is open to students graduating from any U.S. high school. Students must major in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or Economics with an interest in pursuing an actuarial career. All applicants must have demonstrated mathematical ability and evidence of some understanding of the actuarial field. Due 3/31/25.
Scott Porter Memorial Scholarship - Students must submit an essay describing how a sport or a coach has influenced their life. Completed applications will be handed into the School Counselor. Due 3/31/25.
Lower Republican Natural Resources District Scholarship Program - The Lower Republican NRD is offering 3 post high school scholarships. Applicants must have permanent residence in the Lower Republican NRD and plan to major in a natural resources related field. Priority given to those attending a Nebraska college or university. Nebraska Fur Harvesters Scholarship - Scholarship is for students seeking a degree or career that will, in any imaginable way, may have an impact on the future of wildlife management in the state. Please see Mrs. Kliewer for an application. Due April 1, 2025
Kearney Area Community Foundation - The foundation manages 55 scholarship funds. The foundation has a universal application and find out which scholarships you qualify for. Scholarship is open from 2/1/25-4/1/25.
Sons of the American Legion Post 116 Cowles, NE - Jim Richardson Memorial Scholarship - Graduating seniors residing in Webster County. $500 Scholarship, evaluated on resume, attendance record, class standing, and short written essay. Application can be found in Mrs. Kliewer's office. Due 4/1/25.
South Central State Bank Community Service Scholarship - Five $500 Scholarships awarded to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to their community through volunteering and leadership, and have been academically successful throughout high school. Students must be enrolled at Blue Hill and plan to attend an accredited college or university. Please see Mrs. Kliewer application. Due 4/1/25.
Steve Schendt Memorial Scholarship - Kent-Kailey Post 45 - Lawrence. Open to the children and grandchildren of members of the Kent-Kailey Post 45 of the American Legion, Post 45 Sons of the American Legion, and Post 45 Legion Auxiliary. Due 4/1/25.

Johnny Baxter Carriage House Foundation - Scholarship program for students interested in attending one of Nebraska's Community Colleges to study in an automotive related field. A $2,000 grant will be awarded in each of the six Community College areas in Nebraska. Please see Mrs. Kliewer for an application. Applications are due 4/5/25.
Adams County Association for Family & Community Education - Any high school senior who is a resident of Adams County, or a member of an Adams County 4-H Club, or a son or daughter of an active member of an Adams County Family & Community Education Club. Due 4/5/25.
Webster County Natural Resources Conservation Foundation, Inc. - scholarships awarded to deserving youth who reside in Webster County to obtain college training in the career fields of agriculture. Due 4/1/25

Hastings Area Retired School Personnel - Offering a $600 scholarship for high school seniors pursuing a degree in Education. Please see Mrs. Kliewer for the application form. Must be received via mail by 4/11/25.
Alpha Gamma Rho Excellence Scholarship - Awarded to two high school males who will be pursuing a degree in the College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and who display excellence in academics, community engagement, and motivation to be a continued leader. Due 4/13/25.
AGR 2025 Excellence Scholarship - The Alpha Gamma Rho Excellence Scholarship is two $1,000, one-time scholarships awarded to two high school males who will be pursuing a degree in the College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences (CASNR) at UNL. Applicants must display excellence in academics, community engagement, and motivation to be a continued leader. Due 4/13/25

Nebraska Cooperative Foundation - Glenwood Telephone Membership Corp. is a member of the Nebraska Cooperative Association. Each year, their Education Foundation provides 11 various scholarships. Student eligibility is restricted to sons/daughters of a parent/legal guardian who are Members of Glenwood Telephone Membership. Due 4/15/25.
Clint Erickson Memorial Scholarship - $500 to one student from area schools who has participated in athletics. Due April 15th
NDOT - Good Life, Great Journey Scholarship Program - The program provides scholarships to individuals pursuing one of the approved technical degrees, at a partnering technical college, while obtaining hands-on experience by working part-time as an intern for NDOT. Scholarship covers 100% paid tuition, books, fees, tools, housing, and a paid internship with opportunity for full-time employment with NDOT upon successful completion. Applications accepted until 4/15/25.
