Andrea Guerrero, PhD, EdS
Superintendent Knoxville CUSD 202
Knoxville, IL

I hope this letter finds you well and in good spirits. As we navigate through the current semester, it is both inspiring and heartening to witness the positive energy and resilience within our school community.

Let's celebrate the fact that we are moving swiftly through this semester. Despite the unpredictable and inclement weather that we faced earlier, it appears that brighter days are ahead. We are hopeful that the challenges are behind us, and we can now focus on making the most of the remaining months.

I am again reinforcing the change in our academic calendar. The last day of school for students is now Thursday, May 30, 2024, and for our dedicated staff, it will be on Friday, May 31, 2024. Our District does not have an e-learning plan, therefore, no students were required to participate in online learning during any of the school cancellations.

In exciting news, we are thrilled to share that we will be hosting intersession camps for both Junior High and Elementary students. These camps, made possible through the support of our ESSER III funds, aim to provide engaging and enriching experiences during the break. For more details, please reach out to your respective school Principals. We believe that these camps will contribute to the holistic development of our students, fostering creativity and curiosity.

As we reflect on the progress made so far, it is heartening to note the dedication of our staff who go the extra mile and serve on Superintendent Advisory  Committees and Work Groups. These committees have been hard at work, establishing their roles, conducting thorough research on various topics, and leading and sharing information with their peers. We are excited about the initiatives and projects taking shape as a result of their collaborative efforts as we plan for next year.

Our school community is characterized by its resilience, unity, and forward-thinking mindset. Let us continue to support one another as we progress through the remainder of the academic year. The dedication of our students, staff, and community members is truly commendable, and I am confident that together we will achieve great success.

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to the growth and well-being of our community.

Warm regards,

Dr. Andrea Guerrero
