Our Rules

If these rules are followed we will have an AWESOME year in second grade!

As a second grader, your child is expected to set a good example for the younger students.  I am a big believer in positive reinforcement for good behavior that is displayed.  Our classroom will be using weekly ‘Brag Tags’ to say bravo to students who display positive qualities that we learn about each week.  These will be displayed on lanyards hanging from their lockers. At the end of the year they will bring home their tags to share with you. A letter will be sent home about this as well.

The only homework your child will have is to read.  Time with family is important, so make this a fun part of your child’s nightly routine.  A new reading log will be sent home each month with the due date on the top. Students may read books from the classroom, library, or their own home.  The most important thing is to read.

At the end of each day, students will write any homework or reminders in their agenda. Please check their agenda each night and initial it. I will check these each morning for any notes from home. They will also bring home their pineapple take-home folder nightly. Please empty these out and complete/return any paperwork necessary.

As we learn throughout the school year, I will contact you individually should your support be needed at home with extra practice of any concept.

Please feel free to get in touch with me with any questions or concerns.  You may email me or send a message on Remind.
Thank you!
