3rd grade is a HUGE transition grade. Students are starting to really read to learn, instead of learning to read. It is crucial that your child reads each night, for at least 20 minutes. We will be reading a bunch in school, but having a book that they enjoy each night is important as well. Every morning we start off our day with a chapter in our read-aloud book. It is easily our favorite time of the day!

Math skills continue to grow in 3rd grade. This year, students will need to be fluent in multiplication and division by the end of the year. Please study with your child when they bring home their multiplication flash cards. We will be doing lots of practice with them in school, but practice at home is crucial for memorization! We have so much fun learning our facts!
