Basic Special Weapons and Tactics Course

The Bloomington, IN Critical Incident Response Team will be conducting a 50+ hour course on basic S.W.A.T. tactics, techniques, and procedures.  The course will include training on mission based tactics for high risk warrant service, barricade operations, vehicle assault, mindset, basic weapons skills, special equipment skills, planning, less lethal operations, tactical medicine, active shooter, and introduction to hostage rescue.

Students will learn in a “crawl, walk, run methodology” starting with basic individual skills in a dry environment and move to conducting operations in a force-on-force environment.  Students should be physically prepared to conduct training 10-12 hrs a day in tactical gear and the training will be physical in nature.  Students will participate in the team PT standards at least twice during the school and conduct daily PT.
