The Department of Children and Families (DCF)

GEMS staff members are mandated reporters and are required by law to report any concerns of abuse or neglect to the Department of Children and Families (DCF). The goal is to collaborate with DCF to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children and families in our community. 

The Department of Child and Families also offers Voluntary Care Management Services. The program serves families and youth with serious emotional challenges, mental illnesses and/or substance use disorders. Parents/caregivers can submit a request for program by calling the Department of Children & Family (DCF) Careline at 1-800-842-2288, press 3 for voluntary services.  The Careline staff will gather the referral information to determine the family’s eligibility.  Once the referral is complete and if eligible, DCF will send it to Beacon Health Options.
