A Message from the Director

Greetings and welcome to the IA family and the family of musicians that includes over half of the student population at our school.  I am striving along with your young people to have the best possible musical experience while at the International Academy.  The goal of our ensembles is to produce a knowledgeable musician that is globally minded in line with the International Baccalaureate Mission and mission of the IA.  We strive to provide an environment where a young musician can develop their skills and enjoy themselves playing music.

Within the resources of this website, you will find some studies and resources that discuss the effect of music on young minds and their performance in school.  While that is important, it is merely a fringe benefit.  I hope that you keep your children in music because they love music.  

On this website you will find multiple resources including forms you may need for your journey over these next years.  There is also information for the parents as well that they can access.  It is my hope this site will provide a space where both parents and young musician can find information for which they are looking.
