GIDAS is the high school branch of miRcore. It connects a network of school clubs that work to fulfill miRcore’s outreach goals and aim to connect the general public with researchers/scientists. GIDAS members continue to study and advocate the importance of genes in health and personalized medicine while also conducting their own computational biology research. Members will also learn basic biology and genomics applications and have the opportunity to fundraise and learn about a disease of focus (chosen by miRcore at the beginning of each year).
Meeting Date/ Frequency: Biweekly, Tuesdays 2:45-3:15
Level of commitment: 30 mins for meetings, more independent research time outside of the club meeting
