Boosters - A 501(c)3 parent-run organization that supports BHHS theatre programs through dues, show fees, fundraising, and hands-on work to support theatre students. It also provides rehearsal meals and cast parties for members of the cast, pit and crew. 

ITS (International Thespian Society) - A student honor society. At BHHS, the troupe is called “BOSS” for band-orchestra-songs and scenes.  The Official Troupe number is 8055, which can look like the word "BOSS". Troupe members elect officers who help to plan events including social events (Shamrock Shadies, Benny Awards, etc.) and support students in the theatre.  ITS produces a Haunted Theatre each year.  The highlight is the Thespian Festival in December.

MIFA (Michigan Interscholastic Forensics Association) - This group sponsors a competitive one-act theatre festival. State and regional competition locations change yearly. Regional events are one day. States are an overnight event if not local. Students are chosen by audition. January/ February each year.

Benny Awards - An awards show celebrating the year in theatre, ITS inductions, and graduating seniors. In May or early June each year.

"Love Fest" - Mid Michigan Theatre Arts Festival at Garber High School (near Bay City) featuring high school theatre students from mid-Michigan, Metro Detroit, and the West side of the state.  Schools perform and are adjudicated by university theatre professors.   It is non-competitive and has earned the nickname "Love-Fest" because of its supportive, energetic environment. It is some students’ favorite event of the year. Students in Acting 3 and participating technical students attend in January of each year.

"Thes Fest" - Thespian Festival sponsored by Michigan Educational Theatre Association. Actors and technicians take “Thespys” ranging from five-minute performances to tech plots (planning out a show and presenting why the students chose what they did, e.g., costumes, lighting, stage managing, etc.) Weekend. December.  Senior students have the chance to audition for college scholarships for schools in Michigan and surrounding states.  Students have a menu of masterclasses to choose from throughout the festival.  Featured productions from Michigan high schools will perform. 

Stratford Festival - Field trip to “North America’s largest classical repertory theatre company” in Ontario, CA. Students attend shows, talkbacks, and workshops with professionals. Generally in the fall. This trip requires a passport, passport card, or enhanced license.

Broadway Benefit - A cabaret-style show produced by the students in Acting 3.  Auditions are open to all students. Takes place in the spring.

Sutton Foster Awards/Adjudication - This event celebrates high school musical theatre across the state. Students are chosen by adjudicators who attend a performance of the fall musical and nominate students from the production. Students have the opportunity to compete for a scholarship and to compete at the Jimmy Awards in New York.  The awards show is usually held at The Wharton Center, on the campus of MSU, in late May.

Sitzprobe - A full-day rehearsal of show music with the pit orchestra. Sometimes it is followed by a dress rehearsal. Generally two Saturdays in November.

Tech Week - The week before the performance, marked by an intensive rehearsal schedule. 

Set Strike - Staff and students deconstruct the set, props, lighting, etc. after the final performance. 1-2 days after the show closes.

Zeffy - A free and secure method to pay for many things theatre-related via credit or debit card.
