Dear Watsessing Families,

First, let me thank you for your on-going support, patience, and understanding as we, as a nation, community, and school, responded to the events over the past few months. I know this has been a challenging time for everyone.

I am extremely appreciative and very proud of the way our students, you as parents, and staff handled the demands we were faced with and how we continued to educate our children with virtual learning during the most unusual circumstances. We have all learned a great deal about ourselves and technology. Everyone, together, has risen to the enormous challenge and has done an outstanding job!

Our last day of school is Tuesday, June 23rd. K-5 grading for Trimester 3 was based on completion of assignments, effort and participation. Because of standards based grading, teachers are unable to individually assess each student (with fidelity) for each standard indicator as was done for both Trimester 1 and 2. Therefore, students will be receiving a narrative for Trimester 3. K-5 reports cards will be sent digitally on June 26.

Students in grade 6 for Trimester 3, earned grades that were based on completion of assignments, effort, and understanding rather than the traditional numeric average. Grades will only be reflected for Trimester 3. There will not be a final grade. Grades for grade 6 will be available via PowerSchool on June 26.

Central office administrators will be providing us with our district’s plans for the upcoming school year and we will continue to keep you updated. Our major focus continues to be keeping our children safe while providing them with their academic needs.

I thank you again for partnering with your children’s teachers over the past three months and for your continued support, positivity, and resilience. We will continue to strive to do what is best for all of our children.

Stay well and take time to enjoy your families. Have a summer full of wonderful memories and I am looking forward to seeing everyone soon.

Sincerely,

Dr. Gina Rosamilia
