This unit Fraction Cards and Decimal Grids focuses on the understanding the meaning of fractions and decimals; comparing fractions and decimals and finding equivalents; and using visual models to add, subtract and multiply fractions
Understanding fractions is much easier when your child can visualize them. Here is an idea that can help: Together, make a set of fractions per index card. (1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1 1/4, 1 1/2, 1 3/4, 2) Shuffle the cards, and see how quickly your child can put them in order. Or lay the cards in order but leave a few out. Then they will have to place the missing cards where the fractions belongs.
