Welcome Letter

WELCOME TO 5TH GRADE!!

Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,

I would like to welcome you to our fifth grade class! You are now an upperclassman of

Berkeley Elementary School, which comes with responsibility and leadership as you are

now a role model to other students. It will be a thrilling and challenging year. Are you

up to the challenge?

I am excited to work with you this year as we become critical thinkers in Language Arts,

Math, Social Studies, and Science. You will learn how to work together in groups, share

and discuss ideas, solve problems, and develop claims. We will continue Readers &

Writers Workshops, and Math Investigations, along with discovering the history of North

America, from explorers to the Constitution. We will also ask questions and explore life

sciences, chemistry, physics, and space in Science. It’s up to you to come prepared and to

be ready to learn everyday!

I am here in any way to help your child have a successful year. I will do my best to

respond to all emails by 3:35 PM daily. It will be difficult to respond during the day while

teaching. If for some reason I do not get back to you by 3:35pm, I will respond back to

you within twenty-four hours.

I appreciate your assistance in making this year the best one yet!
