Class overview

ESL Classroom Rules

• Respect yourself and others.

• Bring all required materials to class.

• Do not eat or drink in class. (only water is allowed)

• Do not call out while the teacher is talking.   

• Raise your hand.

• Sign out when you are given permission to leave the class.

• Return homework and projects on time.

• Do not make any sounds that will disturb the class.

Rewards

• Positive email or call home.

• Game Time

Consequences

• Verbal warning

• Call Home

• Parent/guardian conference

During class time:

• Unless otherwise instructed,  raise your hand if you would like to answer a question or contribute to the discussion.

• If you are sharpening your pencil, and someone begins to talk, stop until they are done talking.  

• Passes to the restroom will not be issued during the beginning of the lesson.

When your work has been completed:

• Keep all materials at your seat.

• Read or find a quiet activity to do at your seat.

• Wait for instructions about the collection of materials or what will happen next.
