This is something I will do again either as a teacher leader or building administrator. Overall it was pretty easy to organize and the level of learning that took place was awesome. From the feedback I received it was definitely an event worth hosting and having available for people. The hope would be that it could grow in size, but it was a great start.
One way to grow the event in size would be to do this as a whole staff professional development day, or have several school districts come together on a PD day. Although that would force more participants, part of the beauty of the EdCamp Model is that the learning is meaningful and authentic because the educators who are there, giving up their own Saturday, to participate. Those are the educators who you know are truly passionate about their profession and wanting to work on their own skills and knowledge for the benefit of their students.
I do think that if the event is able to become an "annual" thing, or maybe even be offered at several different times throughout the year, it would grow. The spreading of the word and how much teachers take away from the day should naturally draw more participants.
