Wisconsin Towns Association 2023 Scholarship Program (DUE 5/24/2024)

To all public or private high school students that plan to attend a Wisconsin public or private college or university in 2024:

The Wisconsin Town Association, Rural Mutual Insurance Company, and Scott Construction Inc will be awarding $7,000 in Scholarships. 

 Participants are expected to write an essay on "What lesson can town governments take from the COVID-19 pandemic to improve their emergency management systems and prepare for and respond to future disasters?"

The Edward & Hannah M. Rutledge Charities and Casper Foundation Scholarship (DUE 6/1/2024)

High Education Tuition Scholarships to full-time students.

Available to graduates who are residents of Chippewa County.

The scholarship committee makes its selection from students who have the ability to do post-high school level work and need financial assistance.

If accepted, undergraduates may receive an award each year for up to five years or ten semesters. The awards vary from $1,000 to $2,000 per year. 

Forms needed: Completed Application, transcript of high school grades, FAFSA report.

Mikey Taylor Memorial Scholarship ( Due May 1, 2024)

More than 25% of students in college have been diagnosed or treated professionally for their mental health. 

The more attention and support we give to people struggling with their mental health, the closer we become to creating an open, more accepting society. The Mikey Taylor Memorial Scholarship aims to give support to students who have struggled with their mental health and have grown through this journey.

First generation undergraduate students and high schoolers who have overcome mental health challenges are eligible to apply. In your application, write about how your mental health experiences have influenced various aspects of your life.

ASHRAE High School Senior Scholarships ( Due May 1, 2024)


Four one-year $3,000 scholarships available to undergraduate students enrolled full-time in their first year of college in a pre-engineering, engineering, or engineering technology program leading to a bachelor’s degree in a course of study that traditionally has been a preparatory curriculum for the HVAC&R profession.  Applicants must be high school seniors with a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 on a scale where 4.0 is the highest and/or a class standing of no less than the top 30% and accepted into an engineering, pre-engineering, or engineering technology program at a post-secondary educational institution that meets at least one of the following criteria:

The Vintage Voyagers Street Rods of Chetek, Wi, offer are offering a scholarship to a high school senior attending WITC or any other technical college after high school graduation. Field of continued educations needs to be auto related.

2024 Andrew Cray High Education Fund ( Due April 28, 2024)

Eligibility:


• The Andrew Cray Higher Education Fund (HEF) is available to graduating high school seniors who identify as LGBTQ+, and who are planning to enroll in an institution of higher education such as a university, college, or technical school.


• Applicants should have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, be in good academic standing for graduation, and demonstrate leadership through extracurricular activities and involvement in LGBTQ+ advocacy.

Carrie Crystal Stuckert Memorial Scholarship ( Due April 22, 2024)

Purpose: 

The family of Carrie Stuckert has created the Dream Pool Foundation, a non-profit organization providing assistance to individuals pursuing education in the visual arts. Currently Dream Pool is offering six scholarship opportunities

Eligibility: 

Intereste candidates must possess extra-cirricular accomplishments and inspirational goals. Academically capable students must be enrolled as an Art Major at an accredited institution of higher education located in the United States. (This includes Art Therapy Programs). All applicants must be U.S. citizens. Recipient will be required to provide evidence of college acceptance before money is awarded.

Wisconsin Alumni Association Scholarship - Chippewa Valley Chapter ( Due April 19, 2024)


Eligibility Requirements:

-Applicants must be graduating in 2024 from a high school in one of the following counties:  Eau Claire, Chippewa, Dunn, Buffalo, or Pepin

-Eligible applicants will be starting their academic career at UW-Madison as an incoming freshman for the 2024-2025 Academic Calendar. Transfer or returning students are not eligible.

Students choosing to defer entrance to a different academic year or those that decide not to attend UW-Madison will relinquish the scholarship. The WAA - Chippewa Valley Chapter Scholarship Committee may elect to select an applicant in this instance.

-If selected, the WAA - Chippewa Valley Chapter can publicize my award on social media channels, emails and other marketing, and events such as Founder's Day and Freshman Send-off.

Army Scholarship Foundation Scholarships ( Due April 15, 2024)

The Army Scholarship Foundation is a charitable, non-profit organization dedicated to providing college scholarships for undergraduate study to deserving children of current and former members of the U.S. Army, and to spouses of currently serving soldiers.

Founded in 2001 by a group of U.S. Army veterans, the Foundation is dedicated to assisting sons, daughters, and spouses of soldiers in achieving their educational dreams. It is staffed entirely by volunteers and keeps operating expenses extremely low so that 98% of donated funds go toward scholarships.

Karin Anne Seckora Memorial Scholarship    (DUE April 14, 2024)

Scholarship is open to any Bloomer High School Senior who will be attending a technical school, college, or university in the fall of this year.  A minimal grade point average of 2.25 is required. Applicants should be adventuresome, ambitious, loyal, fun loving, and display Christian values. Applicants are also preferred to have a willingness to reach out to others in need, respect all forms of life, and show an avid interest in animals, plants, arts, crafts, music, and dance. 

A second scholarship is offered through the Chippewa County 4-H Extension Office.  Eligibility requirements are the same as the Bloomer High School scholarship.  Should you meet eligibility and want to compete for both, only one application needs to be submitted.  Please note on the form that you want to be considered for both awards.  Only one scholarship will be award, but the application will be reviewed for both.

The scholarship application is due to Student Services by April 1, 2024.

This Scholarship will go to a student in the special education program who would like to pursue and educational opportunity beyond high school. This is meant to be a a needs-based scholarship to help a student who might not otherwise have the means to access their career goals. The educational pursuit could be college classes or a vocational training program. They money from this scholarship can be spent on tuition, supplies, or anything else the applicant needs to pursue their goal.

Description

Scholarship: Up to four recipients will be eligible to receive the Heartland Scholarship. Recipients will each receive $2,500 to put towards continuing education. Payment will be made directly to the institution the recipient is attending.

Requirements

Who is eligible to apply: Graduating seniors from high schools local to HBS offices. Students must have a 3.5 minimum GPA and intend to continue education at an accredited two – or four- year university or technical school, with an intended major in an Information Technology field. Students will be required to submit a copy of their high school transcripts.

UW Help Scholarship (DUE March 22, 2024)

UW HELP would like to announce the 2024 Emma D. Boettiger Scholarship, with applications being accepted starting today! The scholarship will award two academic scholarships to Wisconsin high school students who plan to enroll full time at a Universities of Wisconsin institution starting this upcoming Fall 2024 term. This scholarship award is $2,000 and will be awarded to the recipients for four consecutive years (awarded in two disbursements each year - $1,000 for the fall semester and $1,000 for the spring semester). 


The scholarships are given in memory of Emma Boettiger's sister, Nettie Dieckmann, and nephew, Freddie Dieckmann.

Compeer Financial Scholarship (DUE March 15, 2024)

Eligibility: High school seniors who have an agriculture or rural background, or plan to major in an agriculture-related field at a college, university, or technical school are encouraged to apply between now and March 15.

Each scholarship recipient will receive $1,500 for educational tuition expenses. Qualified applicants must live in Compeer Financial’s 144-county territory and have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Recipients will be selected based on academic achievement, agricultural and community organization involvement, and essays.

Since 1984, the Horatio Alger Association has awarded college scholarships to deserving students. By the association's 75th anniversary in 2022, we anticipate having awarded over $235 million in scholarships to over 35,000 students. Albert Levinson Scholarship

Amount: $10,000 over four years

Since 1986, FEEA has given over 11,000 merit-based scholarships to federal public servants, their spouses, children, and grandchildren.

Collectively, our scholarship program to date totals over $14 million. FEEA champions the pursuit of higher education and each year supports over 200 students with merit-based scholarships.

Scholarship Awards: 

Scholarships range between $1,000 and $5,000 for one year of academic study at an accredited college or university. The scholarship is not renewable, however, applicants may apply every year they are eligible, whether or not they have received an award in the past.

The majority of scholarships are awarded for undergraduate study, with occasional awards for graduate study. Scholarship winners should refer to IRS publication 970 for more information on any potential tax implications of scholarships: https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-publication970. Scholarship funds may be used for tuition and fees only.

Individuals Eligible for Scholarships:

The FEEA Scholarship competition is for those attending or planning to attend an accredited institution of higher learning for an undergraduate or graduate degree. 

Federal employees, either applying directly or serving as a sponsor, must be employed with the federal government for more than three years as of the scholarship application deadline. 

FEEA does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity. 

Applicants must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative, unweighted grade point average.

Children, grandchildren, dependents, or spouses applying for support must be enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in their academic program. Federal employee applicants may study part-time.

Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation ( Due March 6, 2024)


This year, we will be awarding five outstanding high school seniors from rural Wisconsin with each a $3,000 scholarship award to pursue post-secondary education. 


Here are the criteria we will use when choosing the five recipients:


Three letters of recommendation are requested and help in the selection process, but are not required.


Selection will be completed by an ad hoc committee.


The scholarship award will support tuition and educational expenses, up to $1,500 per semester, and will continue if a 2.5 GPA is maintained.


Scholarship recipients will be notified in May.


We encourage the best and the brightest scholars to apply, so they can bring the skills and knowledge they gain to help sustain the vibrancy of Wisconsin's rural communities

Security Financial Bank Scholarship (DUE March 1, 2024)

Security Financial Bank Scholarship is available to high school seniors who plan on attending a four-year university or two-year technical college. Applicant or parent/guardian of applicant must be an account holder of Security Financial Bank. In addition, applicant must have an accumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The scholarship winners will receive their $500 award upon evidencs of successful completion of their first semester and enrollment of their second semester. Two students will each be awarded a $500 scholarship in each market where SFV has a locations

Wisconsin 4H Foundation Scholarship (Due: March 1, 2024)

Opportunity

The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation will award more than $20,000 in scholarships to outstanding Wisconsin 4-H members and alumni pursuing higher education in 2024.  To be considered for financial support, applications will be accepted starting December 15, 2023, and must be received by the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation via email by Friday, March 1, 2024, 5:00 pm.

Wisconsin 4-H Foundation scholarships are awarded to students based on demonstrated personal growth through 4-H, development and leadership in 4-H, academic performance and future educational goals. 

To be eligible for Wisconsin 4-H Foundation scholarships students must have been a Wisconsin 4-H member for at least three years; should have a grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, and be enrolled or planning to enroll at a university, college or technical school during the 2024-2025 academic school year.  Scholarship winners from previous years are not eligible to receive a second 4-H Foundation scholarship.

All applications must adhere to the conventions outlined below.  Any application that does not meet these requirements will not be considered.  All documents must be emailed to the 4-H Foundation as one, two-page PDF.  Any other cloud/internet shared documents will be NOT be accepted (do NOT use Google Docs, for example).

The application materials represent what youth may be asked to submit when applying for jobs. We encourage applicants to treat this process as if applying for a position. For help with creating cover letters and résumés, applicants should reach out to their club leaders, county educator or a teacher or parent.

Applications must be emailed to scholarships@Wis4HFoundation.org.  Applications will consist of a résumé and a cover letter.  These two documents must be saved as one, two-paged PDF with page one the cover letter and page two the résumé.

Cover letter and résumés must be submitted via email as one, two-page PDF; must be named ApplicantLastName Application 2024 (example: Smith Application 2024), and must be attached to the transmittal email. No cloud sharing.

The Hagan Scholarship is a life-changeing scholarship. The scholarship provides up to $7,500 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters, providing recipients with the opportunity to graduate college debt - free.

Farm Kids for College Scholarship ( Due February 20, 2024)


National Farmers launched scholarship program more than two decades ago to invest in the future of agriculture-oriented young people. Farm Kids for College Scholarship winners have pursued degrees in agronomy, agribusiness, dairy science, animal science, farm business and more. The adventures agriculture provides are many, and the Farm Kids for College contest helps students in their college pursuits at four-year colleges or technical and community colleges.

“Our 2024 Farm Kids for College Scholarship competition application materials are available now, and we look forward to seeing applications from students devoted to lives in agriculture,” said Perry Garner, National Farmers national scholarship coordinator.

High school seniors planning to earn an agricultural degree from an accredited college or university are eligible, and must submit materials by Feb. 20, 2024. Based upon competitive selection, National Farmers will announce three national scholarship winners April 9, 2024.

Three winners will receive either $2500, $1500, or $1,000 toward their freshman year in college.

Gerald Naiberg Honor Scholarship ( February 15, 2024)

Boyd J Cameron Memorial Scholarship (Due February 15, 2024

Boyd J. Cameron was a hardworking man of great character.

He was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wars, heroically serving his country. On top of his service, he also took care of his family and supported his wife and children through all of their endeavors. One of his dreams for retirement was to become an entrepreneur. To honor his memory, the Boyd J. Cameron Memorial Scholarship will benefit a student pursuing a degree in business.

Cheryl Twilley Outreach Memorial Scholarship (DUE February 5, 2024)


Cheryl Twilley was a beloved mother who passed away too soon, leaving behind a legacy of generosity.

Cheryl believed in serving others and providing outreach to those who were experiencing socioeconomic adversity. Financial struggles are all too common, preventing many young people from being able to pursue their dreams and continue their education.

This scholarship seeks to honor the memory of Cheryl Twilley by supporting low-income students in their pursuit of higher education.

Any first-generation, low-income undergraduate student who is an underrepresented minority may apply for this scholarship if they have at least a 2.8 GPA and community service experience.

WEAC Scholarship (DUE 2/1/2024)


We are pleased to let you know that the Wisconsin Education Association Council is again offering a scholarship to eligible high school seniors who are planning to enter the field of education. Winners of the scholarship will receive a grant of $1,450.00 per year for four years of study, provided they remain eligible. 


High school seniors who are planning to go into the field of education and whose parent(s) are a WEAC member, a WEAC retired member, or who died while holding a WEAC membership are eligible to apply. 


Each year one of the four scholarships shall be designated the Kathy Mann Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship shall be awarded to a minority student. In the event that no minority student applies or meets the criteria, the Kathy Mann Scholarship shall not be awarded. In its place, a regular WEAC Scholarship shall be awarded.

Breanna Coleman Memorial Nursing Scholarship ( Due January 24, 2023)


Breanna Coleman was one of five people lost in a car accident late in the night on June 25th, 2023.

Breanna was only 18 years old and had just graduated from Gateway High School, completed her Dual Enrollment requirements, and was set to begin the nursing program at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida, in the Fall. Bre had her whole life ahead of her, and she just wanted to use her career to help people.

This scholarship seeks to honor the life of Breanna Coleman by supporting students who share her passion for nursing and helping others.

Any high school senior who will be a first-generation college student pursuing a four-year degree in nursing may apply for this scholarship if they have volunteering and extracurricular involvement.

Red Letter Grant ( Due October 16, 2023)

| ELIGIBILITY | Open to women throughout ten counties in western Wisconsin who want to start a NEW business. We will consider applications from existing women-owned businesses looking to expand, but preference is given to applicants in the start-up phase. We consider the start-up phase to be three years old or younger. If you have already received a Red Letter Grant, you cannot re-apply for the same business, but you may apply for a new start-up.  RLG does not fund non-profit organizations.

The Herb Kohl Excellence Scholarship program aims to recognize student leadership, citizenship, school and community involvement, and academic achievement. The Herb Kohl Educational Foundation's goal is to encourage Wisconsin youth to pursue post-secondary education in a public or private two-year or four-year college or university. The Foundation awards $10,000 scholarships to 100 Wisconsin high school graduates each year. 

Who is Eligible?: Applicants must be graduating high school students who intend to enroll in a postsecondary institution which may be a public or private two-year or four-year college or university. Students who are residents of Wisconsin USA, attend a Wisconsin high school, are in good academic standing and demonstrate probable success in postsecondary education are eligible to apply. 

Selection Criteria: Students are evaluated on their leadership, citizenship, school and community involvement, and academic achievement. In addition, students are evaluated on their ability to clearly articulate goals in each of four areas: future educational goals, personal life goals, community/society service goals, and career goals. There is no minimum GPA required, nor a requirement for a student to have achieved a specific class rank or percentage in their class. Each student must submit three letters of recommendation, one from each of the following categories. 1. Teacher 2. Counselor or principal 3. Community member of a family member.  Letters of recommendation are evaluated on how well they describe the student's improvements, contributions, and successes. Letters me be from a current or previous year's teacher, counselor, or principal.
