Dear Friends,

As we approach the new year, we look back with deep gratitude for all the challenges we overcame together and the growth we have achieved as a community. Thank you for being with us every step of the way.

Twenty-five years ago, our late Master visited Northern California and gave us $5,000 to start this branch. With that, we started our Tse-Xin (Compassionate Heart) endeavors. Today, our growth has surpassed anything we imagined. This has been possible thanks to everyone’s generosity: those who donated, volunteered, and supported us with compassion.

This year, in addition to continuing our educational and charitable programs, we focused on two initiatives: the Cupertino Branch and Peacock Villa.

• Cupertino Branch: The health food store and beverage bar continue to operate smoothly, and classroom usage has been steadily increasing. We hope the outdoor areas will officially open next year.

• Peacock Villa: This year we expanded care for more animals, including sheep, pigs, dogs, chickens, and peacocks. Our building plans are currently under review, and we hope to begin construction within the next couple of years.

This year, we also launched the heartwarming “Turkey Rescue Project.” Knowing that over 40 million turkeys are traditionally consumed each Thanksgiving, we wanted to offer an alternative, compassionate option by rescuing live turkeys and preparing vegetarian turkey meals for community members in need. Our goal is to share warmth and kindness during this holiday season. This year, BWNC prepared over 3,500 vegetarian turkey dinners for people in need.
