A message from the CEO
Dear friends:
Hope you receive this message well! At the end of 2024, I sincerely Thank You for your support of BWNC this year. Your generous donation allows us to continue to care for those in need. We are grateful to have you as we move towards a better future together.
The Cupertino Branch is finally successfully completing construction this year! In mid-July, the Joyheart store moved in and held a store opening celebration. Everyone is welcome to visit it. We have also launched a number of activities in our Cupertino Branch, such as sewing classes, purple cloud paste making, children's financial management class, Buddhist seminars, cooking classes and singing & dancing clubs, etc. You are welcomed to come and explore various interesting activities with us!
At the end of last year, Peacock Villa welcomed 27 sheep, living a free life here that were destined to be slaughtered. Currently, more than 80 sheep have been delivered from the Parrot Farm in Southern California. The young pig named Josie, the rooster and the guinea fowl were also brought in, and the sheepdogs Mac & Willow were brave enough to protect everyone; making this a safe and warm home.
BWNC was invited to participate in the Bay Area Chinese Sports Tournament for the first time this year. We not only participated in the grand opening ceremony with more than a hundred teams but also won the championship in the men's youth 400-meter relay race. We look forward to continuing to bring more contributions and vitality to the community in the future!
In the 10th Elites’ Camp held this year, lecturers such as the well-known physician and writer Mr. Hou Wenyong shared his transformation of life to Silicon Valley professionals who learned to improve their soul and met a better version of themselves! The New Year Worship on the first day of the Lunar New Year was held at a Buddhist hall to pay homage to the Buddha. Everyone rang the bell, prayed, and welcomed the arrival of the New Year together! Mother's Day Festival in May allowed the whole family to have fun together. In August, the "Pre-Medical Care Planning" workshop co-organized with CACC helped the relatives and friends find peace and contentment in the final stage of life. The fifth "Pilot Mentorship Program" started in September - through the professional guidance and rich resources of the instructors, we helped newly graduates achieve success in the workplace with a balanced physical body and mental health.
The BWNC continues to care for children from low-income families in Orchard School throughout the year, so that the children can concentrate on learning and growing. We collaborated with Sutter Care at Home Hospice to organize the "End of the Year Sending Warmth" event to provide veterans with materials collected from donors. We also collaborated with sewing class volunteers to hand-make fidget blankets for dementia patients to spread warmth and care! We also organized a "Donate Second-hand Glasses and Children's Books" event with the San Francisco Bay Area Lions Club. The 2023 annual report has more BWNC events coverage!
Looking forward to 2025, we like to invite you to continue to participate in the upcoming charity activities!
