What is a Case Manager?

A Case Manager is a school professional identified to be the liaison for information and questions about a student with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or Section 504 Accommodation Plan. Students with IEPs are assigned a Case Manager, and Guidance Counselors serve as Case Managers for students with 504 Accommodation Plans. All school personnel working with the student and parents/guardians will be notified of their student’s Case Manager. A Case Manager’s responsibilities include fostering communication, as necessary, about student needs and progress.
