The Origin
In accordance with the goal of “cultivating talents through education” as advocated by the founder of Fo Guang Shan, Venerable Master Hsing Yun, the Buddha’s Light International Association Scouts (BLIA Scouts) were gradually established since 1996 in many parts of the world. The BLIA Scouts set its core goal as “Do good deeds, Speak good words, Think good thoughts“, advocating education and character cultivation in life, thus establishing a harmonized social atmosphere. In addition, BLIA Scouts provides a platform for children to develop teamwork, potential skills, and creativity, so they can live a joyful life that filled with three good acts.
The Purpose
To promote education. To help develop wisdom, courage, and integrity through serving the community at large.
To promote one for all, all for one. To practice the spirit of a Bodhisattva through teamwork, mutual support, and do a good deed daily. Respect the Triple Gem (Buddha, Dharma, Sangha).
To promote peace and harmony. To learn from each other and encourage the harmonious development of interpersonal skills through scouting activities.
緣起
依佛光山開山星雲大師以「教育培養人才」為宗旨而成立的「國際佛光會佛光童軍團」，於 1996 年 於世界各地陸續成立。佛光童軍團以「做好事、說好話、存好心」三好作為核心目標，倡導生活教 育和品格的培養，建立良善社會風氣。同時，讓孩子們從團體生活中開發潛能增進創造力，共同實 踐快樂的三好人生。
宗旨
推廣童軍教育，培養智仁勇人格兼備的公民，走入社會，服務人群。
發揚我為人人，人人為我之菩薩的精神，合群互助，日行一善。並且尊重佛教 (佛、法、僧) 三寶。
藉由童軍活動，相互觀摩學習，促進人際關係和諧發展。
