UImagine you saw an enormous, scary monster. Write out these sentence starters and complete the similies.

Verbs are "doing" or "action" words e.g. run, like, look.

The personal pronoun 'I' is ALWAYS a capital letter.
3. Correct each sentence by adding the missing capital letter. Circle the full stops.

A pronoun is a word used instead of a noun e.g. They asked her to help them.
Personal pronouns refer to you, me, and other people e.g. I, me, you, she, us, them.

Antonyms are words with the opposite meaning e.g. good - bad, rich - poor
2. Find the antonym of each word below

You can join two simple sentences (clauses) together to create a compound sentence using a conjunction e.g. for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so.
3. Finish these compound sentences. The first clause and conjunction have been done for you.

This concept teaches us words that contain more than 1 syllable. A syllable is a part of a word. The words we are learning are made up of open and/or closed syllables.

Synonyms are words with the same or similar meanings. You ca use a thesaurus to find synonyms.
The Latin prefix syn- means 'the same'.
Improve the underlined words by choosing a synonym.

A noun names a person, place, thing, or ideas e.g. classroom, paper, cat, girl, honesty, swimming.
2. Create a wordfind in your book then ask a friend or family member to circle the nouns. Use the nouns listed below in your wordfind.

A full stop is used to mark the end of a sentence.

A simple sentence (clause) contains one idea, starts with a capital letter and ends with a full stop, has space between each word, and makes sense.
