Week 10 Term 1 - Conflict vs bullying
Bullying - A person being bullied or victimised, repeatedly and over time. Danger of someone being hurt physically or emotionally.
Conflict - Is a normal part of growing up. You may need some help from an adult to resolve issues. You will learn to work out differences on your own.
Week 9 Term 1 - Following Instructions
Why do we follow instructions the first time?
So the instructions don't have to be repeated
We don't get left behind in our learning
It might be an emergency
Someone could get hurt
So the Teacher dosen't waste her time
If you are on a school trip - so you don't get lost or hurt
What happens when we don't follow instructions?
Teacher could get mad
Other children could get confused
We might get left behind in our work
We could get a warning
We could get lost
We will miss out on learning

Week 8 Term 1 - Being prepared and ready to learn
Why is it important to be prepared and ready to learn?
You might fall behind and not have the skills you need in life
So the class don't have to wait for me
You need to be on time so you do not miss any information or instructions
All our tools are ready to go so we don't miss any information or instructions
We need the correct tools so we don't miss out on any learning
What tools do we need to be ready to learn?
Scissors, pencils, books, brain, chromebook, rubber, teacher, pens, ruler, glue stick, pencil sharpener, pencil case, manners, coloured pens and pencils
Week 7 Term 1 - Speaking to Adults
Brainstorm polite words - Please and thank you, good morning, use their name, have a good afternoon, excuse me, greet them
Role play different scenarios
Speaking to a reliever in a different room - Hi, my name is.... I am from Room Four!
Talk to an adult who is hurrying in another direction - Quick but polite hello
Week 6 Term 1 - Attending School Assemblies
Positive examples - We don't talk, clap for others when they get an award, walk in after a presentation if you are late, don't be late, sit with your arms and legs crossed, don't make rude comments, clap at the appropriate time for an appropriate length
Negative examples - Talking over top of others, walk in loud, walk in out of line, sit and make rude comments or noises, don't clap, be late, sit with legs spread wide, annoy the person next to you and in front, stand up and be silly
What happens when someone recieves an award?
We clap at the appropriate time for the appropriate length. We do not make any comments, don't get upset when you don't get an award, be happy for others
Week 5 Term 1 - Uniform
What is our school uniform?
Light blue or white shirt. Dark blue shorts, skort, tights or pants. Navy blue jersey
How do we wear long hair?
Tied up
What about our nails and jewelry?
Only studs or sleepers in our ears, no jewelry, no nail polish
What happens if we wear the incorrect uniform?
Jersey that isn't navy blue, you will be told to take it off
Incorrect shorts or shirt, you will be given a spare to wear
Week 4 Term 1 - Lining Up
Why do we line up?
It dosen't get too crowded, we don't push each other or push past people
Manners
Shows you are ready for the Teacher and you are able to hear instructions
We don't disrupt other children's learning
Why is it important to follow instructions?
So we keep safe
So we all end up in the same place
We won't disrupt other kids learning
Why is it important to stay with the group and arrive on time?
We don't want to get lost
Otherwise people are waiting on us
We might miss out on learning or instructions if we are late
Week 3 Term 1 - Lunch Eating
Brainstorm and discuss why we have rules at lunch eating time
To keep our floor area tidy (not spilling food)
Sit down while we eat otherwise you may choke
Being responsible while we eat - being sensible, not spitting, throwing food etc
Don't talk with your mouthful, it is disrespectful
Don't chew with your mouth open, it is disrespectful
We do not share food or drink bottles. Germs can be spread. The other person who gave you food may not have enough. Your parents need to know what you don't like so they can stop buying those items
Brainstorm and discuss why eating lunch is important to help our learning and to be eating the right foods to become healthy individuals
So we have energy for the day to help us learn
We have the protein needed to keep us full for longer
So we are not hungry and distracted by this hunger
Helathy food and water help our brain develop
Expected behaviours during eating time
