I am Mrs. Macholan, and I have the privilege of working with students and teachers in the media center and in the classrooms. The goal of our media center is to create independent twenty-first century learners. Through technology, books, reading, researching, and other activities, students will learn to grow as individuals and define their skills to become lifelong learners.
I attended Peru State College and majored in Language Arts secondary education. I also have a Master's Degree in educational technology from Lesley University and a K-12 library/media endorsement through the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I also have an SEL Certificate through Augustana University. I taught one year of sophomore English and high school journalism at Gretna High School, five years of seventh grade English at Otte-Blair Middle School, and spent three years as a media specialist and teacher at Deerfield and West Primary Schools in Blair. I started at the Blair High School Media Center in 2011, and am also an assistant softball coach, junior class sponsor, and building technology facilitator.
