REUSE means to use something again that you would normally throw away (eg. Glass jar for food or plastic bags for bin liners.)
Use materials more than once in their original form instead of throwing them away after each use. Reuse keeps new resources from being used for a while longer, and old resources from entering the waste stream.
At school we try to reuse fruits and vegetables that would normally be thrown away. We compost fruits and vegetables to make fertilizer and so that the fruits and vegetables don't go to the landfill.
