How Can I Help?
Counseling Classes
I see each class once a week for a 30 minute Counseling Lesson. During this time we cover many topics related to social/emotional development, academic success and career readiness. I cover these topics in a variety of ways to keep them fun and interesting.
Please see my Resources page for a link to my Curriculum Map on Specific topics being covered each month.
During our Counseling Lessons I also teach students a variety of Mindfulness techniques. These strategies are taught to the students to give them tools to help with emotional regulation and stress management.
Please see my Resources page for a link to the Mindful Moments document showing the strategies I have been or will be teaching.
Individual Counseling
I am available each day to meet with kids as needed for individual reasons. These meetings could be for needs that arise or for regularly scheduled visits.
Referrals for visits may be made by teachers, staff, parents or the students themselves. These are scheduled on an as-needed basis.
If you feel your child needs to have a scheduled visit with me please reach out using the contact information below.

Small Group Counseling
I run one small group per grade level K-2 per semester. The first round begins in October and the second round begins in February. Both rounds run 6 to 10 weeks depending on the topics and the group. These groups are made specific to the needs for each grade level. Groups are kept small with about 5 to 6 students in each group.
I work with teachers to determine the best need for the grade level and create the topics based on the highest need at the time. Not all grade levels have the same topic and all lessons are formed to meet the specific needs of the group.
Connecting with the Counselor
With help from some teachers in the Elementary, I host a Counseling Centers night. I plan to host a total of 6 nights throughout the year. Each event consists of 4-6 centers revolving around counseling topics. Kids will move through each center during our time together. Each student that attends will be put into a small group of 3 to 5 kids to navigate through the centers with. Each center will be led by a staff member.
To register for the events, see the Elementary weekly newsletter or my Resources Page for the Sign-up Genius link. Only 30 spots available per night.
The link will be put out/active at least 3 weeks prior to each event.
Minute Meetings
I hold these meetings twice yearly. The meetings are held at the beginning of each semester. I use these meetings to touch base individually with every K-2 student in the building. It is a chance for them to get a one on one visit with me and tell me anything they wish for one minute. I love this opportunity to connect with my students.
