Abrams Family Scholarship
The Abrams family moved to the Blaine area in 1996. Our sons, Alex and Sam both graduated from Blaine H.S. and we feel strong ties to the community. Education has made a big difference in our lives. The Abrams Scholarship has been established to help provide the opportunity for higher education to deserving students in the community.

Norma R Smith Scholarship
My family moved here from Scotland when I was 5 years old. I graduated from BHS in 1980. I received a scholarship to BTC, graduating from the LPN program. I was able to work both in a hospital setting and a family practice office. My father always told me growing up, “This is the land of opportunity”. Mt father started working in a factory in Blaine as the “oil boy” in 1969. He retired 31 years later as the sole owner of the company. His land of opportunity had turned into his American dream. My dad, Nicol (Nick) Smith passed away several years ago. I would like to honor him by giving back to the community, so you have an opportunity to live out your American dream.

The Northern Light Scholarship
The Northern Light is the community newspaper for Blaine and Birch Bay. Founded in 1995, the newspaper values the role the school district plays in developing solid citizens and inquisitive minds, The Northern Light is pleased to offer a scholarship to a graduating senior who is pursuing a college degree with a focus in journalism and/or communications.

Dr. Steven C Bunch Scholarship
Dr. Steven Bunch graduated from Blaine High School in 1964. He then attended Central Washington University. After graduating with his bachelor's degree from Central, he went to Washington State University, eventually earning his doctorate. At the time of his death in 1988, Dr. Bunch was the director of institutional research and planning at the University of Portland.

PEO Chapter J Scholarship
P.E.O. is a philanthropic educational organization whose goal is the support and advancement of women's education. The organization began at a small college in lowa in 1869. Today the P.E.O. Sisterhood has over 250,000 members and celebrates 100 years of providing educational opportunities to local women this year.

Cory and Leah Crews Scholarship
Cory and Leah Crews are long time Blaine residents, both are currently living and working in Blaine. Both Cory and Leah graduated from Blaine High school in the early 2000's and now have a son who attends Blaine Primary and a daughter who began at Blaine in 2019. They both received scholarships for college and they want to give back.

Blaine Fishermen's Memorial Scholarship
The Blaine Fisherman's Memorial Committee was established in 1984, for the purpose of remembering those fishers lost at sea since the turn of the century and to bless the fishers and their boats as they embark on a new season. Thus yearly we hold a blessing of the fleet ceremony each year in the Blaine Harbor.

Blaine Fine Arts Scholarship
The Blaine Fine Arts Association is a group of parents, teachers, and interested community members who support the arts programs in grades 7-12 of the Blaine School District. The BFAA supports the arts programs promoting and providing for extra curricular enrichment to the students in art, band, choir, and drama. Our support includes monetary help with trips, awards, scholarships, and purchase of specialized equipment. We also chaperone, provide transportation when needed, host concerts and art shows. The Blaine Fine Arts Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization of volunteer parents, teachers, and community members who work to promote, encourage, and support the efforts of the Blaine, Art, Band, Choir and Drama Students. The BFAA provides annual arts scholarships, helps to purchase equipment and offsets expenses that enable our students to receive arts experiences beyond the Blaine School District Curriculum. The BFAA is proud of the work our students produce, and the honors they receive, The Blaine Fine Arts Association helps to provide art supplies, drama supplies, and music for band and choir. They also pay for field trips, uniform cleaning, bus expenses for travel, and yearly scholarships to High School Graduates.

Blaine Booster Club Scholarship
The Blaine Athletic Booster Club is proud to announce its inaugural scholarship program. One male and female will be honored with hopes of increasing this to more student athletes in the future. This program will recognize those who have maintained a high academic standard, donated time to the community, and participated in Blaine's athletic programs. Each year this award will be given in the name of an outstanding booster.

Brad Ambrose Memorial Scholarship
Brad (Brose) Ambrose was born on December 26, 1969. He grew up in Blaine and attended Blaine Schools from kindergarten thru high school graduating in 1988. Even though Brose was unable to play sports he was a sports fanatic and he always followed his beloved Borderites, Brose was born with a genetic liver disease and after being diagnosed, the doctors told his parents he would probably not live past 12 years old. This is where his famous saying came from "Every Day Is A Bonus". Brose passed away in Bellingham on August 3, 2014. He left behind his girlfriend, Susan Sanders and a 1 year old son Ryder. Several of his lifelong friends and his fanıily decided to honor his life by having an annual golf tournament with the proceeds to go for a yearly scholarship for a deserving Blaine High School Senior girl and boy each year and for Ryder's education.

Law Offices of Jason Ans. Smith Law & Legal Scholarship
The Law Offices of Jason Ans. Smith Law and Legal Scholarship recognizes students who have displayed outstanding advocacy while participating in Teen Court. The Law Offices of Jason Ans. Smith & North County Public Defense seeks to identify students who have demonstrated a desire to pursue a career in the legal industry. Students who participate in Teen Court are eligible for this scholarship.

Liam Lyons Scholarship
Liam Lyons graduated in 2018 from BHS and passed away a few short years later. Their family is giving this scholarship in honor of Liam to one graduating senior each year to support their post secondary education. The winner of this award will be a person who embodies and advocates for diversity, the quest for knowledge, and the Arts.

Blaine Education Association Scholarship
The Blaine Education Association is a professional educator's organization. It is composed of certificated staff including teachers, counselor's, and librarians. In addition to supporting quality working conditions for staff and students, the BEA awards scholarships, provides opportunities for leadership, and national organizations.

Blaine Food Bank Scholarship
The Blaine Food Bank’s Evelyn Bonallo & Jerry Bladies Service Award would like to offer a $500 Scholarship to a Blaine High School student whose family or the student themselves are associated with volunteering, particularly in the effort to ease poverty and hunger in our community. We wish to consider a candidate who has voluntarily volunteered, rather than volunteered to fulfill a school requirement.

Blaine Scholarship Foundation
Our Mission Statement: The Blaine Scholarship Foundation is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to financially supporting Blaine High School seniors to further their education opportunities. The Blaine Scholarship Foundation is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization devoted to the continued education of graduating seniors from Blaine High School in Blaine, WA. The Blaine Scholarship Foundation hosts an annual golf tournament raising funds to grant these scholarships. The Blaine Scholarship Foundation has been able to provide graduating students with over $300,000 in scholarships. We as an organization have been supported by the generosity of the community members and businesses in Whatcom and Skagit Counties. The Blaine Scholarship Foundation is a committee of 9 dedicated individuals, with a diverse background from Educational Instructors, Business Owners, a College and Professional Sports Coach, a Federal Regulatory Compliance and Security Professional.

Dennis & Audrey Brown Charitable Trust
Over 40 years ago Dennis Brown started Northwest Podiatric Lab, Inc in Blaine. He has successfully built this company into the premier foot orthotic lab in the country. With the measure of success that Dennis has achieved, he and his wife Audrey want to give something back to the community. Dennis and Audrey have established this trust to help young people with their vocational education goals.
