Founded in 2009 in memory of Raven Charlese Johnson (1991–2009), Raven’s Project honors her legacy of perseverance, brilliance, and academic excellence. What began as workshops and speaking engagements to inspire students has grown into a lasting commitment to education and resilience.
In 2016, we established the Raven C. Johnson Perseverance Scholarship, which has since awarded $29,000 to 21 young women ages 18–25 who embody determination in the face of life’s challenges.
Our work includes:

Raven wanted to be an author. She began writing in her pre-school years writing short stories and poems which continued throughout high school. Her writing is prolific, detailed, hilarious, intelligent and thought-provoking. Raven's writing seemed to take a light-hearted look at life until she was struck with a life-threatening illness. Then her writing became personal. My Life in the Sunshine takes the reader on a journey to know how the gift of writing helped Raven process and understand the mysteries of life and death. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will be inspired to embrace every breathe-taking moment life provides and hopefully write about it.
Bring My Life in the Sunshine to your community.
