For Parents / Carers /Guardians

Safeguarding

Colleges must adhere to policies and procedures to protect children from harm.

A risk assessment is conducted of all providers and wellbeing checks are made whilst on placement.

If your child tells you anything about their placement that worries you please let us know immediately.

How we can help you

The work placement team are here to help you with any questions you may have about your son or daughter's placement. We are here for you so please don't hesitate to contact us!

Your child can talk with us or their teacher in the first instance if they are having difficulties and it is our job to help and support them.

How you can help us

As a parent / carer or guardian you can play a crucial role in helping your child get ready for work placement.

Our students research and contact potential placement providers and you may have vital contacts in the community.

Many students will be working with vulnerable people in care homes, schools or nurseries or similar settings. They may require a DBS (Criminal Records Check) to be completed well in advance of their placement. Click below for further information.
