Criminologist
Criminologists collect and analyse data related to crime scenes to determine why and how a crime was committed. On a day to day basis a criminologist may research reasons why people commit crimes, advise policy makers in the justice and policing systems, analyse data from surveys and intelligence to spot trends and work on crime reduction and rehabilitation programmes.
HOW TO BECOME A CRIMINOLOGIST
The main routes to get into this role are :
A university course- you could undertake a degree in the relevant field.
A graduate scheme- you could apply for a place on the Government Social Research Fast Stream programme to work in the Civil Service.
