Community Worker
Community development workers help improve their local area. On a day to day basis they may find out about the community's needs, problems and barriers, make local people take action and have their say, find new oppourtunities and managing existing programmes, and help to raise public awareness about community issues.
HOW TO BECOME A COMMUNITY WORKER
The main routes to get into this role are :
A university course- there are many different degrees you could undertake in many different areas.
A college course- there are different diplomas that you could undertake to become a community worker.
An apprenticeship- there are many relevant apprenticeships you could undertake to become a community worker.
Volunteering- volunteering in local projects can secure you a role in being a community worker.
