Auditor
Internal and external auditors check organisations' financial records and procedures to make sure they are accurate and efficient. On a day to day basis they may examine company accounts, identify any risks to the business, assess the company's financial reporting systems, interview staff to gather evidence, observe business processes, analyse financial data, make recommendations for improvements and much more.
HOW TO BECOME AN AUDITOR
The main routes to get this role are:
A university course- you could undertake various different degrees to gain this role.
An apprenticeship- you could do a degree apprenticeship to get this role.
Applying directly- if you already have the skills and experience for this role you can just apply.
Training with a professional body- you can qualify to audit public sector organisations through an apprenticeship or graduate scheme with the National Audit Office.

You will usually need 2-3 a levels for this role. You could do a degree, then join a graduate scheme to complete further training to become an auditor.

You may be able to complete an apprenticeship to qualify as an internal auditor, while working with a company.

This is dependent on the company and area, you will also usually need to go through an interview process when applying for a degree apprenticeship in becoming an auditor.
