Civil Service apprenticeships available - Dates for this are 15th April and 30th April for the visit. 



There are 5 apprenticeships about to be advertised for Upper Sixth students who are interested in working for the Civil Services Attendance Allowance Unit at Peel Park.  There is possibly 1 more with our CFCD department, which will be updated accordingly.


 The idea is that anyone who is really interested would have a site visit which will be either 15/4 or 30/4 to meet the manager and team.  Following this there will be help with the application process.

Wanted to let you know about Pathways to Work! This is a 3-day VIRTUAL SEND opportunity. We have arranged the day to ensure that there is a chunky break in between the morning and afternoon sessions so students will have an increased ability to focus. There is a PDF attached with further details, but the sessions will run on the 24th - 26th April 2023 (10-11am and then 1.30-2.30pm).

 

Within the sessions we will explore the support available from employers for those with additional needs to help them thrive in the workplace, so SEND students can gain an insight into the support available to them within the world of work. The industries we have leading sessions are varied to show students the different roles available to them across a wide range of sectors. We have a range of employers who will detail super SEND friendly pathways into a variety of careers - including the DWP, NHS England Choices College, Leonardo Hotels and Mott Macdonald, amongst others.

For our third session as part of our careers in crafts and making series this academic year, students will continue to explore a diverse world of roles in the sector.

From illustrators, jewellers and footwear designers to armour conservators, cheesemongers and Haute Couture fashion designers, the sector offers exciting job prospects. Professionals could work in specialist boutiques, become an entrepreneur, or work for big brands such as Nike, Cartier, and Louis Vuitton to name a few!

You've probably seen a Boots on your local high street – the first store was opened in 1849! Perhaps you've been in-store or online and made a purchase, but what do you really know about this renowned retailer?

Come and join this unique opportunity to learn more about careers within the market leader in the world of healthcare, beauty and retail. Hear from members of the Boots team about the wealth of opportunities available in Healthcare, Retail, Supply Chain and STEM to name but a few.
