Public Announcement:

Blackford United Way has faced financial difficulties for a few years due to the decline in contributions from individuals, corporations, and businesses.  We have lost some major contributors over the last few years, with the most recent being the closing of IU Health Blackford Hospital. 

The Blackford United Way Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to dissolve Blackford United Way, Inc.  Effective December 31, 2024, Blackford United Way will cease operations.  From that date forward, donations for Blackford United Way specific cannot be accepted. 

We are working with the Blackford County Community Foundation and asked that our dedicated contributors continue to donate through the Foundation and designate their contributions to the “United Fund” that will be established by the Foundation.  Those designated funds will be earmarked for agencies that serve Blackford County and apply for “United Funds” through the Foundation. 

Thank you for the support that you have provided over the years.  It is our hope that you are able to continue to contribute so agencies may continue to provide these much needed services in our community.
