Equipment
BEFORE SCANNING
Make sure the place is tidy.
Remove any objects that might interfere with the scan.
Open all shutters/curtains.
Turn on the lights only if the space is dark.
Don’t move or turn on anything once started.
Plan the scan path in your head before kicking off the shooting.
HOW TO DETERMINE THE SCAN PATH
Place the camera 1,5m from the previous scan and keep a clear line of sight from a previous scan.
Keep the camera 50cm away from walls and big objects. This will help avoid slices, warps, and distortion.
Scan in a clear grid pattern.
Pay attention to the light that comes from the windows. Try to reduce the contrast between the lights and the shadow on the floor to reduce later on mistakes in the doll house (black spots).
In a door, scan before and after entering, but not directly inside the threshold.

SCANNING OUTSIDE & PATHS TO GUEST HOUSES

5. Use the Trim tool.
