Welcome to my class! I look forward to a wonderful year with you.

Expectations

• I expect students to be on time to class.
• I expect students to participate in classroom activities with a good attitude.
• I expect students to treat others with respect and kindness.

Grading

Grades will be taken each day based equally on the following:

• Attendance
• Organization/Planner (including having supplies, textbooks, and assignments)
• Participation/Attitude
• Time on Task

Communications Objectives and Policies

• In this class we will focus on study skills, transition skills, and organization. We will also spend part of the class period on assignments from other classes. Students should bring work from other classes each day.
• Please bring and use the weekly planner every day of the school year. Students are required to fill out their planner completely each day. This is a large part of being organized for school and a requirement for this class.
• Please provide a set of at least 5 plastic dividers and or pocket folders. Being organized for each subject is a must! We will organize notebooks in class, and plastic dividers should last the entire year.
• Please note that the purpose of Communications is to enhance your child’s education. We can meet to address your child’s placement if necessary.
• Attendance is important, as it directly affects success!
