Department of Civil Engineering

It was started in the year 2001 and presently it offers under graduate program in Civil Engineering and post graduate program in Structural Engineering. The Department has qualified faculty members with excellent academic records. The Department is equipped with excellent laboratory facilities. The department undertakes a wide range of consultancy services on Bearing Capacity of Soils, Analysis and Design of Multistoreyed Buildings, Testing of Building Materials and Quality Analysis of Water Samples. Students trained by Civil Department won prizes in the Mega events conducted around the Globe.

About the Institute

Nestled near the northern bank of the river Bhavani, BIT's campus provides the right environment for learning in harmony with nature, away from the odds of city life. BIT is now celebrating the 25th year Anniversary; it was started by Founder and Chairman Dr.S.V.Balasubramaniam, Bannari Amman Group in 1996. It is an Autonomous Institution affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and accredited by NAAC with 'A' Grade and all eligible Programmes have been accredited by NBA, New Delhi. BIT has excellent infrastructural facilities with landscaped courtyards and pathways and designed to emphasize the character of an excellent centre for learning. As on date BIT offers 20 U.G and 10 P.G Programmes. All Departments have been recognized by Anna University to carry out Doctoral Programmes.
