IEEE is the trusted “voice” for engineering, computing, and technology information around the globe.IEEE, pronounced “Eye-triple-E,” stands for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. About IEEE-BIT Student Branch

Bannari Amman Institute of Technology - IEEE Student Branch was established in the year 2005. Over the years the strength of the section has grown steadily, and it aims at helping students recognize real- world challenges and nurture innovative ideas of students by mentoring their implementation approach. Students from our branch have won IEEE-Student Enterprise Award for their project “FPGA Model of Fuzzy (PD) controller for Insulin pumps in Diabetes” during the year 2008. IEEE-BIT won Best Student Branch Award in the year 2016. Members of IEEE BIT are active participants in national and international level hackathons and involve in multiple projects. IEEE, an association dedicated to advancing innovation and technological excellence for the benefit of humanity, is the world's largest technical professional society. To foster an interest in the engineering profession, the IEEE also serves student members in colleges and universities around the world. Other important constituencies include prospective members and organizations that purchase IEEE products and participate in conferences or other IEEE programs. BIT-IEEE STB 64491 consists of 01 Affinity Group Women in Engineering and 03 Technical Societies 1. Industrial Electronics Society 2. Power and Energy Society 3. Power Electronics Society. IEEE BIT is affiliated to the IEEE Madras Section, which is a part of Region 10 of IEEE.
