Beaver Scouts is for young people aged between 6 and 8 years old in the second age group of Scouting, they gather in groups called Beaver Colonies to hop, skip and jump their way through lots of different games and activities. Beaver Scouts make friends, play games, go on visits and help others.  

As well as enjoying plenty of adventures, being a Beaver is about exploring who you are and what you stand for. These are big ideas, and when you join the Beaver Colony, you’ll start thinking about them by making a promise. A promise is a set of words that mean something to you, which you try to follow everyday.

Cub Scouts is for young people aged between 8 and 10 years old in the third age group of Scouting, they gather in groups called Cub Packs. Being a Cub is all about growing and learning in small but mighty ways. With your new friends you'll go on adventures, learn new skills and help others. Cub Scouts go on camps, build edible rafts, or go on moonlit hikes. They learn by doing, and some of the skills will be practical - learn how to cook a delicious meal or give someone first aid. 

As well as enjoying plenty of adventures, being a Cub is about going on a journey to understand who you are and what you stand for. When you join the Pack, you’ll explore these ideas by making a Promise. A Promise is a set of words that mean something to you, which you try to follow everyday.

Scouts is for young people aged between 10 and 14 years old in the fourth age group of Scouting, they gather in groups called Scout Troops to conquer the small task of changing the world. Being a Scout is all about discovering the world on your own terms and making the most of what you have, wherever and whoever you are. 

Alongside your new friends, you’ll master the skills that'll help you weather the storms of life, and try things you’d never get the chance to do at home or at school - working with trained volunteers to achieve whatever you set your mind to. 

Scouts offers young people exciting experiences such as camping, hiking, wood carving, geocaching and learning practical life skills such as first aid, cooking and navigation, all while building confidence and independence. Through teamwork, community projects, and hands-on adventure, Scouts grow into capable, resilient, and responsible individuals.

Explorer Scouts is for young people aged between 14 and 18 years old in the fifth age group of Scouting, they gather in groups called Explorer Units to try new things, make new friends and conquer the small task of changing the world.

Alongside your new friends, you’ll master the skills that will make you feel stronger and happier in the long run, and try things you’d never get the chance to do at home or at school. Whether you’re hiking to faraway lands or building a robot in your local town hall, you’ll have the freedom to choose what you’d like to do, and work together with adults to make it happen.

Most importantly, they say yes more often than they say no - whether they’re signing up for their first major hike across Europe, or writing their first line of code, or accepting the last of the toasted marshmallows.
