Decisions about entry to the Sixth Form are never based solely on a student’s academic profile. Before being invited to join the Sixth Form, we consider an individual’s contribution to school life, behavioural record and ability to benefit from two years of study in our environment.
A strong commitment to sport, drama, art or an extra-curricular pursuit, such as participation in the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Scheme or Model United Nations (MUN), are weighed in the balance; alongside work ethic, progress and a positive demeanour which are the hallmark of a successful BISR Sixth Former.
Academic requirements:
Students who want to study a BTEC Pathway usually should have a minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade 4 - 9, including English & Maths.
Students who meet the subject entry criteria may be able to study a combined pathway with A Levels or a pure BTEC pathway. This will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
