I am the English teacher on Team Phoenix and I have been teaching in Bismarck since 2006. I graduated with my bachelor's degree from the University of Manitoba and my master's degree from Western Governors University. I love to read and spend time with my family. My latest hobby is baking sourdough bread. My husband, Perry, and I have 2 children - Kyra and Bret. They both attended Horizon and graduated from Century High School.
I have been teaching at Horizon since 2008. I received my Education degree from Dickinson State and Masters Degree in 2013. I enjoy spending time with family, friends, sports, camping, fishing, and golfing with my two boys, Charlie and Bennett.
This is my 6th year teaching and second time with just one subject (US History!) I also coach Football & Track and Field (Throwing) at Century High School along with working with Sanford Power in the summer & winter training Century athletes. I enjoy cooking, traveling to new places, and sports.
Hello! I am the earth science teacher. This year is my sixth at Horizon - go Huskies! Before this, I have worn the hats of science teacher, camp director, and mom. My husband and I have three children, Berniece, Milton, and Oliver, and one goofy dog, Tootsie. Our family loves to explore the outdoors, be that hiking, playing on the river, visiting my parents' lake cabin, or geocaching. A few random bits of trivia about me. . . I would always take a McDonald's Diet Coke over a fancy coffee, my favorite earth science experience was helping with a dinosaur excavation, and I love musical theater.

I am starting my 28th year of teaching, 5 of them here at HMS. I have a Business Education BS degree and a Masters of Information Systems degree. I am also certified in Technology Education. My family is my pride and joy, especially my 2 grandkids (1.5 years and 5 years). In my pasttime I enjoy playing golf and spending time on our pontoon. Working in my yard and spending time in the great outdoors makes me smile.
Technology Education at HMS is mostly project based; therefore, we have an enjoyable atmosphere while learning basic engineering principles and problem solving techniques.
Hello! This is my 11th year teaching in the district. I teach 8th grade Career Ed. I enjoy hiking, kayaking, camping, riding bike, and roller skating. I play roller derby on a Bisman local team. I am a “plant person” and enjoy spending my mornings drinking coffee or tea on my patio or laying in a hammock and reading a book. I enjoy traveling. I learned German so I could travel as an exchange student in college to Germany. My favorite days are Sunday and Monday. Each year I try to learn something new. This year I am learning piano and beading.
