Christmas Travels

By: Claire Chumley And Veronika Fischer

Ah, the wonderful winter break is now over, and we students are all back to learning and working hard. A lot of students decided to travel in the time of their winter break! Everywhere from Mandan to Florida, people were displaced all over the country. Although mostly staying in the Midwestern states regain. Minnesota ( 7 Eighth Graders ) was the most visited state over this long break closely tied behind it is Fargo ( With 6 Eighth Graders ). But the most interesting place award goes to Mr. Vaderpan! Forgoing to Germany over his winter break. In an interview, he stated that it was such an eye-opening experience, although he was just visiting for family he learned so much. The country was so different than America. For example, all of the food was in small portions. You can't find small food portions in America usually. Another difference is that they walked everywhere. There were not many cars, so you had to walk from place to place. He said the whole experience was so eye opening, and he would go back in a heartbeat! We also interviewed a fellow student Brooklyn Berger , an 8th grader here at Horizon. Brooklyn went to a small town in between Bismarck and Dickinson. She also went to visit family! She said that she had fun on her travels and enjoyed seeing her family. Most of the students here at Horizon ended up going to popular places like Florida and Minnesota. But places like Beulah and New Town were visited over the winter break!
