During this project, we were hoping to have an eco-bottle with successful eco-systems where all the life is healthy and thrives and that our 3 different cycles would be perfect and work. But during our first eco-bottle, before reconstruction, everything lived, but they did not thrive. This means that all the organisms and plants were barely alive, the plants began to shrivel and the worms started to dry and thin out. We also did not have a solid nitrogen cycle. Then after reconstruction, we changed the placing of our animals so the worms can get more moisture and life, and put in a fava bean to make the nitrogen cycle more efficient.
After the project our eco-bottle went pretty well to plan. All our animals survived and most of our plant's survived. The only thing that went wrong was our fava bean that conducted the nitrogen cycle did not have enough space to grow. So it grew a fungus on it and turned black. This was the only thing that failed in our eco-bottle.
I believe the fava bean did not have enough space to grow, causing the stunt of its growth and finalizing in it molding and dying.
If we had a 3rd try we would eliminate the ivy plant to give to to allow more space for the fava bean to grow so it would not stunt its growth allowing it to not mold and extend its life.
