Sensations

By Nya Steward

Do you ever get that sensation?

That tingly sensation?

The one when someone hive-fives your hand too hard

NOT, the ones you feel before you vomit

The ones you feel when the person you admire turns to you looks you dead in the eye and say your name

NOT, the ones you get when you know find out ‘bout a !POP! quiz

The ones you feel when you go on a stage to perform somin’ you luv

IT’S these sensations that make us human

IT’S these sensations that make us enjoy life

Lost Boy

by Sarah Connors

Hello.

Follow

along,

the path goes

away,

Nothing in sight,

The lights with No shine,

and a Dark abyss.

Lost.

No hope of life,

Goodbye friends,

Hope. You make it out.

The End.

Untitled Poem

By Taraneh Samadani

The alarm that blares

Creates a groan that tears

Through my dark cold room

Everyday it goes

Like the screech of some crows

And brings my heart gloom

Then I stand

And try to think of sand

So my mind can fly far far away

But the lights come on

And reality dawns

Now I’m on my way

Two Women

By Cecilia Juarez

Two women stand alone

unafraid

wind ruffles their hair

to

and

fro

but they stay still

waiting

something

someone

Two women

one clutches a purse the other, nothing.

her foot shifts her head scratches.

one car

rumbles by

a bus

follows suit.

Two women

a collective look of disappointment

the lonely road

shares in their anticipation

they sigh.

Two women

one wears a sparkled dress

the other, a freckled skirt

a refusal to

look

to her left to her right

seemingly nowhere

to go.

Two women stand alone

in the midst of

absence

School Ending

By Nicole Berry

The year beginnings,

It feels like it will never end,

But by the end,

It has sped by,

those fleeting moments,

All passed,

Only the memories,

left to hold onto
