Directions to submit a 3D print request:
- Save your design as a .stl file on a USB device
- Save a jpeg file of your design on a USB device
- Name both the .stl and jpeg files as your name and the object’s name (WilliamKennyChainmail.stl)
- Bring your USB to the Learning Commons
- Be able to explain a bit about your design; how you created it, for what purpose, how do you plan to use it.
- Students will be contacted via school email address or via Schoology once their design has been printed.

- Where is the 3D printer? In the Learning Commons.
- What colors can I print in? Black, white, red, orange, blue, purple, green, gray, gold.
- Can I print an object using multiple colors? It depends on the object! Speak with Mrs. Moody
- Can I bring my own filament? Not at this time.
- Is there a cost to print my design? Not at this time.
- What size can I print? Designs may not exceed 10” x 6” x 6.7” (254mm x 154mm x 170mm).
- Where can I find an online design program? Free accounts are available at sites such as Thingiverse, TinkerCad, or MyMiniFactory.
- How long will my object take to print? Depends on the size and complexity of the item.
- Are there limits to what types of objects I can print? No weapons or counterfeit objects will be printed.
- How many objects can I print? One per week. Submissions will be accepted on Mondays. Students will be contacted via BK Gmail or Schoology once their object is printed.
- What if my design fails to print? Students will be contacted if their design fails to print. Students always have the option to re-design and resubmit.
- Why does a design fail? Common reasons are poor design - top heavy, weak support, deep overhang, sharp angles, etc.
