Clifton Jones is an arranger, composer and
music educator who lives and works in the central
Texas area. He is a native of Houston, Texas and
studied at Trinity University in San Antonio and
Southwest Texas State University (Texas State
University) in San Marcos. He has written numerous
transcriptions, arrangements and original works for
band, orchestra and woodwind ensembles. Mr. Jones
taught band, jazz ensemble and woodwind methods
in central Texas for over 30 years. Many of his
arrangements for woodwind choir and clarinet
ensembles rare published by RBC music and are
included in the Texas UIL PML. He also has works for
band and orchestra published by Alfred, Daehn Music,
Wingert-Jones and TRN. Mr. Jones has performed in
the clarinet section of the Austin Symphonic Band for
over 30 years, and has written several arrangements
and original works for the band. He also volunteers as
a member of the train crew with the Austin Steam
Train Association.
