Google Chrome extensions provide an easy, quick way to accommodate students who have a variety of special needs - from visual impairments and reading disabilities to attention disorders and dysgraphia. Within the following pages, you'll find a wide array of extensions arranged in several categories. All extensions are here for one purpose: Help students learn.
But first, the basics . . .
Google extensions are amazing. However, if you install a lot of them, they can clutter the right corner of your browser - making each individual extension harder to find. Moreover, if you install too many extensions, they can cause Chrome to do some really quirky things. For example, I once lost the ability to see images in Google Slides until I disabled 10 extensions.
Therefore, I recommend installing an extension manager, which will allow you to find, enable, and disable extensions quickly. I use Extensity to activate an extension when I'm ready to use it and deactivate it when I'm ready to move on.
Chrome extensions are programs that add extra functionality (abilities) to the Google Chrome Internet Browser. Extensions can be used to increase productivity by simplifing mundane tasks and adding desired features to Google Chrome that aren't expressly built into the browser.
Extensions can be searched in the Chrome Web Store, where a simple push of a button easily adds the extension to your Google account. Once installed, extensions appear in the upper right corner of the Chrome browser.
