As a component of being considered a Highly Qualified Pre-Kindergarten program, Pre-K teachers must engage in 15 coaching hours each year until 150 total PD hours are met. This year we will satisfy those 15 coaching hours through a combination of coaching conversations, lesson planning, classroom observations, microteaching (see below), and reflection. Microteaching- Literally means to “put yourself under a microscope.” It entails a process of recording the audio and visual of a classroom, the teacher reflecting on occurrences during the lesson, the teacher watching the film, then debriefing with a coach.
